scenario 1: hara with max dagger is actively attacking and being attacked by grolm
scenario 2: hara with max dagger is standing still and being attacked by a grolm (the hara is not actively attacking with his dagger)

if all variables are the same (dagger mod, weapon mod of the grolm, etc.), except in scenario one where the hara is fighting back versus scenario two where he's just standing there taking hits, is the parry/dodge rate the same? i was always under the impression that the dodge/parry rate is the same in both scenarios but somebody was trying to tell me today that is not the case, and that the person in scenario one (fighting back) would take less damage.

It has been a while since I looked at the code, however from my recollectio ......

Whether you are fighting back makes no difference even though it may appear to.

The reason why it may appear to is because of direction.

If someone attacks you from the front then there are no mods to your weapon skills.
If someone attacks you from the side you lose (10?) weapon skill.
If some one attacks you from behind you lose (20?) weapon skill.
If you are stunned you lose (10?) wepon skill.

The modifiers are done from memory and may not be correct.

Hence if you are stunned and attacked from behind you are in big trouble.
Also hence the tactics against the GK to stun him or at least start the combat from behind.
