Any help would be great.

Not sure that I understand what you mean by skipping.

1. Download the game. You should have the exe file and the two gc00.* files and the two pnglib.* files. Your should also have a gfx folder (which may be empty) and the sfx folder that has sound files.

2. Double click the exe files to strat the game.

3. If you are running Vista or Windows 7 you may need to run in XP Compatability mode.

4. If you have some new fangled graphics card you may need to turn on or off some of the options on it.

5. The client is fairly old technology so it does not need the high end fancy graphics stuff.

See if any of this helps.

Nothing is smooth when I play. I click to walk somewhere and its like watching a movie but your missing clips so it skips. Don't know how to explain it.

I use a NVIDIA Geforce 9500 with 1gig so it provides options. Which ones should I turn on/off for this game to work well.

Anisotropic flitering
Antialiasing - Gamma correction
Antialiasing - Mode
Antialiasing - Setting
Antialiasing - Transparency
Conformant texture clamp
Extension limit
Force mipmaps
Maximum pre-rendered frames
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration
Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias
Texture filtering - Quality
Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization
Triple buffering
Vertical sync

I'll continue to play around with it. (shrug)

Curse of old games and the ever increasing technology.

Turn off alpha and then go into your drivers and Disable Hardware Acceleration for Aranock or just disable it completely, if you only used an ATI Graphics card which automatically disabled Hardware Acceleration for games like Version 2. If you don't know where Hardware Acceleration is in your Drivers I cannot help you find it because I'm an ATI man and don't have access to the nVidia drivers on this PC.

Alpha is automatically turned off in the new client.

My work laptop (old one and the latest lenovo) does lag terriblu but I am not allowed to be an admin on it so I have limited control over the graphics card.

I tend not to use the work PC except in hotel rooms for this game so I have not really experimented as to the cause.

Someone else may have intestigated and found a solution.

When I said 5900 i mean 9500.

ITs a super graphics card, but I dont have the option to disable hardware acceleration as it's disabled by default.

God this is a fun game but it needs a new client. lol.
